The cooperative output regulation problem is one of the basic cooperative control problems and has become a popular research area. In this talk, we will study the cooperative output regulation problem for discrete-time linear multi-agent systems with various time-delays by both distributed observer approach and distributed internal model approach. It will be shown that the cooperative output regulation problem for discrete-time linear time-delay systems has some fundamental differences from the same problem for continuous-time linear time-delay systems, and deserves a thorough and independent study. Specifically, for distributed observer approach, we present the solvability conditions of the problem based on a new type of discrete distributed observer by distributed dynamic output feedback control law subject to static graph and jointly connected switching graph. Moreover, for distributed internal model approach, we establish a general framework for converting the cooperative output regulation problem for a linear uncertain discrete-time multi-agent system with both input and communication delays into the stabilization problem of a so-called auxiliary augmented multi-agent system. Both the distributed state feedback and distributed output feedback control laws are proposed.
